FfigmentsCreate a feed

How to embed your YouTube feed on your website

Give your YouTube channel a home on your own website. Figments displays linked video thumbnails and titles, making it useful for tutorial libraries, creator pages, and a section of recent uploads.

Connect your YouTube feed

  1. Open the feed dashboard, choose YouTube in the Platform selector, and give your feed a name.
  2. Enter a YouTube @handle, channel ID, or channel URL. Use the channel that publishes the videos, rather than a watch URL or playlist. The field is labeled “YouTube channel”.
  3. Choose Create and check the live preview. Confirm that the cards belong to the source you intended before adding them to your website.
  4. Adjust the layout, colors, captions, and post count, then copy the embed code shown for your feed.

Example source: @yourchannel

Connect the channel, rather than one video

A channel feed is useful when you want a collection of uploads to refresh over time. A single video or playlist URL is a different source and is not the input for this integration. If a renamed handle does not resolve, use the channel ID shown in your channel details.

Help visitors choose what to watch

Keep captions visible so that video titles provide context. Cards work well in a tutorial section; a Pro list layout places the image and title side by side. The feed provides cards that link to YouTube. It does not replace the YouTube player with an inline player or automatically start videos on your page.

Set expectations for availability

Only videos available from the channel's public sources can appear. Private, deleted, or restricted uploads may be absent, and a cached feed does not guarantee that every upload appears immediately. Check the preview against the channel before publishing your page, especially when the feed is part of a course or announcement.

Add the snippet to your website

Paste the generated snippet into a place that accepts HTML and JavaScript. Keep the feed identifier from the dashboard intact: it connects the widget to your saved configuration. Publish the page and open it as a visitor to check that the feed appears.

For WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, or a plain HTML page, follow the website installation guide. Some page editors remove scripts or only execute them on the published site.

Choose a plan and a layout

The free plan includes cards and grid layouts, up to six posts, and a Figments badge. Pro is $3 per month and adds carousel, mosaic, and list layouts, up to twelve posts, custom CSS, and badge removal. Start with the free preview to decide how much space the feed needs.

If your feed does not appear

Check the source format above, confirm that the profile or collection is public, and look for an error in the dashboard preview. On your website, confirm that the editor retained the snippet and that you published the latest page. Content depends on the source platform's availability and may be served from cache.

Frequently asked questions — YouTube

Do I need to connect my YouTube account?

No. Enter the public youtube channel as shown (@yourchannel). Figments reads public posts — no OAuth is needed. Use your own profile or one you have permission to republish.

Why is my YouTube feed empty?

Check the handle format (YouTube channel: @yourchannel), confirm the profile is public and has recent posts, and look for an error in the dashboard preview. Private or login-gated content cannot appear.

Will it work on WordPress and Shopify?

Yes. Paste the same snippet in WordPress Custom HTML, Shopify Custom Liquid, Webflow Embed, Squarespace Code Block, Wix Embed HTML, or plain HTML. No plugin needed.
